The US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights internships are offered to undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring in the fields of diplomacy, international relations, and human rights. These internships provide a great opportunity for students to gather some hands-on work experience before they take a step into their professional lives.
There are three different internship positions offered. You can apply to work as a research assistant, a social media officer, or a communications officer. As a social media officer, your main task will be to create content for the organization’s social media sites and web pages.
The USIDHR internships, offered at international NGOs are unpaid, however, they equip the interns with the knowledge of the inner workings of international organizations. Interns are given the opportunity to attend meetings, and educational workshops, and host virtual events as well as fundraisers. Duration of the USIDHR Internship:

Eligibility Requirements for the USIDHR Internships:
In order to be eligible to apply for the USIDHR internships, all applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in either international relations, sociology, political science, social studies or law.
Since content writing and engaging with people play a huge role in the internship, candidates are also required to have excellent English writing and communication skills. A bit of work experience in content writing is also required.
All applicants must have excellent organizational and critical thinking skills as they will be required to organize different workshops and engage in-office meetings. Applicants must also know their way around various computer software such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel, etc.
To intern for the position of a research assistant, the applicant is also required to either be enrolled in a graduate school program, be enrolled in the final year of their bachelor’s degree, or have graduated with a university degree.
