Hawaii University Scholarships 2024-2025 – Apply ASAP

The admissions department of Hawaii University announced Hawaii University Scholarships 2024-2025 for applicants of all subjects and academic degree levels. The East-West Center Bachelor Degree Scholarship (GDF) supports graduate learners from the Pacific, Asia, and the United States for up to 24 months of Doctoral or Masters degree study at the University of Hawai’i, where they can also participate directly in the Center’s academic, residential, and management capacity building programs. Recipients of East-West Center awards join a community of students and alums who are shaping the region with the most thriving economy in the world. Hawaii University Scholarships Coverage

The Hawaii University scholarships program for graduate degrees pays for the full cost of overall tuition and fees for graduate programs offered by the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM), as well as the cost of books, housing in an East-West Center dormitory, and a portion of the cost of meals, health insurance, and other incidental costs. During the fellow’s time spent in school, funding opportunities for committee presentations and field research are made available on a competitive basis.

Eligibility Criteria for Hawaii University Scholarships

A Bachelor’s Degree with a 3.0 GPA or Higher:

Graduate program applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent from a university that has been fully authorized by the appropriate accrediting body in the country in which it is located before the start of the award.

In most cases, an applicant is required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 equals an A or its equivalent in the applicant’s most recent four semesters or six quarters of their undergraduate document as well as in all of their post-baccalaureate work. It will be necessary to demonstrate competency in language, and in order to do so, students will be needed to obtain the appropriate standard on the TOEFL and the IELTS.

Majors Available for Admission at Hawaii University:

Business, agriculture, journalism/mass communication, education, gender studies, environmental studies, NGO management, public administration, political science, STEM, public health (technologies, science, mathematics, engineering), as well as other relevant field are among the primary concern subjects of study.

If a required subject area is not one of the criteria, the candidate should pay special attention to clarifying how the degree program would support the grant program’s objectives. Specialist degree courses such as architects, legal systems, and pharmaceutics are not eligible for financial assistance.

How To Apply for Admission to Hawaii University?

A yearly competition held on a global scale decides the winners of the scholarships. If you aren’t yet registered as a classified graduate student at UH Manoa, you are required to submit an application to the university by the 1st of December in order to be considered for admission to the following fall semester.

Beginning on August 1 of every year, the University of Hawaii will begin accepting applications through its online application process (Application link at end of article). Your relevant documentation both for your UH enrollment office and dept applications needs to be completed by January 10 in order to ensure the timely handling of your EWC application. The application cannot be reviewed without the following materials:

  • A curriculum vitae (CV) or resume,
  • Application Acknowledgement (a printout or screenshot of the confirmation you got from UH upon filing your online enrollment request to the university,
  • Passport biodata section (for foreign applicants only),
  • A formal copy of your documents from each university you have attended,
  • If you’re not a present University of Hawai’i student and you need to prove your English proficiency, the testing service where you took the exam must report your score on either the IELTS or the TOEFL by January 10
  • Three letters of recommendation; two should speak to your academic prowess and career goals, while the third should comment on your time spent volunteering, participating in extracurricular, etc. As soon as you submit your application online, a link to the Letter of Reference form will be given to your referee.

Result Announcement

The Center will get in touch with candidates by the 1st of April to let them know what their decision is regarding their application. The Center will send an email with the result to all of the candidates. The Center will not provide information about the findings over the phone.
